NEDC Collaborates with Gombe State Government to Distribute N1.5 Billion Relief Fund to Flood Victims
In a significant show of partnership and dedication to community recovery, the North East Development Commission (NEDC) has teamed up with the Gombe State Government to provide N1.5 billion in relief funds. This support aims to help Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and households that were severely affected by the floods in Gombe State in 2024.
The official disbursement of funds took place on January 9, 2025, at the New Banquet Hall of the Government House in Gombe. The event was led by the Governor of Gombe State, His Excellency Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON (Dan Majen Gombe), alongside the NEDC's Managing Director/CEO, Mohammed G. Alkali.
Breakdown of Relief Fund Distributions
- Households:N990 million
- MSMEs:N250 million
- Widows:** N250 million
- Persons with Disabilities: N10 million
During the event, cheques were handed over to representatives of the households, MSMEs, and widows. Additionally, representatives of Persons with Disabilities received N10 million in cash to support their immediate needs.
