Background:
Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee is a world leader in providing relief, rehabilitation and post-conflict development services for those who have been forced to leave their place of residence or have suffered from violent conflict and oppression. Currently, IRC works in more than 25 countries around the world, addressing both the immediate and life-saving needs of people affected by conflicts and disasters, as well as the reconstruction needs of post-conflict societies.
Since 1998, working in Uganda, supporting internally displaced persons (IDPs), refugees and local communities, IRC Uganda has its office in Kampala and regional offices in Kitguma, Moroto, Kirandongo, Aru and Yumba. The current portfolio of programs includes health care, protection and rule of law, protection and strengthening of women, and economic recovery and development programs.
Duties and responsibilities at work:
Job tasks and responsibilities as an enumerator will be:
- Participation in training in data collection methodologies and tools.
- Conducting preliminary testing of tools and collecting feedback.
- Visiting households to conduct interviews.
- Taking notes/transcribing interviews and preparing summaries from focus group discussions and interviews with key informants.
- Collecting and updating up-to-date data using recommended data collection tools/methods and platforms.
- Ensuring compliance with organizational performance standards, code of conduct and security policy.
- Filling in and submitting to the manager timesheets containing the level of effort for each working day.
- Compliance with procedures and privacy policies for data collection, storage and exchange.
- Protection of the provided equipment, including, but not limited to, tablets.
- Performing other duties assigned and agreed with your supervisor.
